About Ken

Ken’s journey into knifemaking began in 2016, inspired by his time spent hunting and fishing and an innate interest in making his own gear. Working out of his garage with a small set of tools and a few sourced parts, Ken began building knives simply to see what he could create. What started as a hands-on experiment quickly turned into a deeper pursuit of craftsmanship, performance, and design.

While early knives were built for field use, Ken’s interests naturally led him to develop kitchen and collector-style knives, too. Every knife Ken builds is designed with real-world use in mind. Blade steels are carefully selected for hardness and toughness, producing sharp, long-lasting edges that don’t require constant sharpening. And handle materials are selected for both function and stand-out design.

Whenever possible, Ken sources quality materials from Ohio and the surrounding region. When a knife calls for something beyond what’s available locally, he turns to trusted vendors offering rare and extraordinary materials, including exotic hardwoods, antler, rare bone, stabilized woods and burls, and woolly mammoth tooth and tusk.

Ken also stabilizes select woods himself and creates resin and hybrid resin pours, often collaborating with other craftsmen to produce distinctive handle materials that are both durable and visually striking.

Each field knife is completed with a custom-fitted leather sheath, built specifically for that knife and designed for years of dependable use.
